Introduction text

With The Lake District and The Yorkshire Dales on our doorstep - KDCS offers an exciting selection of cycle rides throughout the local area and beyond. There are social gatherings including slide shows, talks and supper evenings and members are kept up to date with cycling news and issues through this web site, emails and our Facebook pages. KDCS are an affiliated group of Cycling UK.

Rides

There is a free-to-join KDCS ride every weekend.  Most weekends, the ride has a planned route and leader but sometimes the ride is billed as "Decide on the Day", in which case turn up and anyone can decide what route to take.  We usually ride on quieter roads and all cyclists are welcome. Click on the Calendar tab to see all the ride details.

We also go out on short, flattish, ‘Easy Tuesday’ rides at 7pm on Tuesday evenings in summer between the end of April and early September. The rides involve a gentle pace and are generally between 12 and 20 miles. There is no pre-appointed leader for the rides and we cannot accommodate unaccompanied children.

There are also short flattish rides on Saturday afternoons at 2pm from Kendal Leisure Centre. LA9 7HX.

There are mountain bike rides every Thursday, during the day.

Please note that all riders cycle at their own risk and must ensure that their bikes are in a roadworthy condition before joining a ride.
