Description


From the back of Kendal Leisure Centre go left on the shared pedestrian/ bike path for a mile, crossing over a road half way along. This is National Cycle Network 6.

Continue to Castle Street and follow the road to The Duke of Cumberland and turn right onto Appleby Road. Continue past Morrisons/Matalan towards Grayrigg turning left towards Patton Bridge soon after passing Morrisons/Matalan complex.

Cross the bridge and turn right towards Whinfell Tarn. on Reaching Harwood farm turn left towards Crake Hall. Eventually at Otter Bank you reach the A6. Turn left towards Kendal and continue to the Duke of Cumberland.

Stop at the Duke of Cumberland for refreshments.

Then leave taking the road to Kendal and joining the cycle path on New Road back to the Leisure Centre or make your own way home as desired.
