Description


From the back of Kendal Leisure Centre go left on the shared pedestrian/ bike path for a mile, crossing over a road half way along. This is National Cycle Network 6.

Continue to Castle Street and follow the road to Sainsburys and then Gilthwaiterigg Lane. 
Continue past Sprint Mill and take the back road to Staveley.

Before reaching Staveley turn right at a triangular junction and go up a steep hill, with Craggy Woods on the left. Take the road to a gate, continue through the gate until you reach a barn and take a left turn down the hill.
There is a sharp turn left which takes you down the hill to Staveley. Turn right at the weir and then left into Staveley.

Head towards the Eagle and Child for refreshments.

Then leave taking the road to Kendal and joining the cycle path to Plantation Bridge. Turn left to Bowston and follow the road to Burneside and Kendal.
